Fleet Management Limited, based in Hong Kong provides a comprehensive range of ship management services to cargo ship owners worldwide. Currently, Fleet undertakes the full technical management of more than 200 modern ships, on behalf of reputable ship owners. Other essential operating services include commercial management, new-building supervision, shipboard audits, superintendence and insurance.

As a Prudent Ship Manager, Fleet knows that the commercial life of a vessel is often determined during its design phase and construction period. The rate of wear and tear is typically dependent on the vessels trading pattern and the standard of management, but the principal factor governing a vessel's longevity is her 'quality of build'. Diligent supervision of a ship's construction is key to her relative market value throughout its lifetime.

Against this backdrop Fleet Management Limited’s New Building Department has developed its range of services that include project viability study, vetting of yards, design evaluation with a focus on safe and efficient operation, and plan approval and design modifications as required to comply with new regulations and operational requirements.

Every project is manned by a full strength team of experienced Hull & Machinery, Electrical/Electronics and Paint supervisors many of whom are Ex Chief Engineers and Master Mariners. All paint inspectors are with NACE or FOROSIO level 2 / 3 certificates. Substantial number of Hull and Machinery inspectors also hold these licenses. Moreover, Plans are checked & approved by in-house plan approval team which includes Naval Architects, Marine & Electrical Engineers & Ex-Class Plan approval surveyors.

Furthermore, Fleet continuously evaluates operation & maintenance best practices from its fleet of 200+ vessels and incorporates them into the design stage of our new building ships for better and safe performance.

Fleet’s experience with New Building site supervision is considerable; having undertaken such services on behalf of over 50 vessels of various types from the builder's yard across major ship building nations. Our staff is available for worldwide assignments 24 hours a day. Reports are generally delivered in English and Chinese including extensive photo documentation.

During the past years of booming shipbuilding industry in China, FML New building department has been engaged in evaluation of shipyards – appraisal of the standard and quality of new buildings. We have gained a lot of experience within the shipbuilding industry and have built up a very good relation and cooperation with a number of companies within the Chinese shipbuilding industry.
